You literally don't even notice they exist unless you happen to get lucky and walk past a clan war in the Wilderness or a clan massing at Edgeville or the Gamers Grotto. Quite a lot of them probably just buy bonds, sell them for RS3 gp and then trade it for Old School money so they don't have to waste time making money.
They don't even do anything (again talking about the ones purely interested in the warring aspect of game) but PK and camp monsters for money. Clanners don't brag about their levels and they're not interested in competing with the more, let's say, 'hardcore' RuneScape players. Still not something I'd do, but I don't consider it as bad as botting for levels and money in the main game for example because the clan world is a part of RuneScape that is separate from the rest. They pure and simply don't care, so they bot and and abuse all sort of training methods not considered to be "in the spirit of the game" as Shooter put it like afking spiders etc to get the levels they need to do the only thing they care about and like doing.Īnd honestly I can't blame them, the average RuneScape player does not have patience to max an account twice especially not players who don't even like 90% of what the game is about.
There are exceptions such as myself and Sobend, clanners/ex-clanners who actually enjoy the game and do more things other than PvP but we're the minority really, and the rest don't care, they're not interested in leveling up their non-combat stats, questing etc. Killing eachother for hours during PKris, clusters and crash wars and all the beef of the (PvP - we now have to distinguish between the two types of clans because most people can't tell the difference between actual warring clans (the pre-cc clans) and the 'new' clan chat clans) clan world. I can't speak for everyone of course (PKers/clanners), and I don't know much about the mentality of the Edge 1v1 PKers, but the large majority of the clanners are only interested in the clanning aspect of the game. A large portion of the Old School players are PKers, and while I can't say they're the majority because I only play Old School like once a week for clan events and only hang around Lumbridge/Edgeville/the Wilderness, I'm still sure they amount to a considerable percentage of the player base.
